Here are some tips that worked for me when I first started with clipless pedals:
– You can tweak how much force is needed to unclip from the pedals. Start with putting the pedals to the least amount of force possible.
– Work on getting the technique right to clip in and out by holding on to something like a light pole or the kitchen countertop and just clip in and out a bunch of times until it doesnβt feel all to weird to do it.
– In the beginning when you are going to come to a stop, clip out of the pedal way ahead of where you are going to stop and donβt wait until the last second. That way you wonβt get stressed and panic when clipping out.
– Take a little bit bigger step to the side when putting your free foot down when you are coming to a stop. This way you wonβt fall over on the side where your foot is still clipped in.
