I own a gravel bike with a GRX 400 (2×10). I removed the chain a few days ago to clean it and now the bigger chainring is not a smooth as it used to be. However I don't understand the problem as the chain does not touch the front derailleur.

Note that when I'm on the smaller chainring, everything works fine. Any idea ? Thanks !

I feel resistance when pedaling on the big chainring — how can I fix this?

Are you sure the chain is installed correctly? If you did not cjange anything else like bb preload then I would say 100% the chain is not installed right. Look that the chain correctly passes the little guides near the pulleys.

Ok first I’d take out the crank arms and spindle . Regrease that bitch. And check ur sprockets for any sign or anything that looks outta place… something is rubbing up ugly on something else so you’re gonna notice it if you look hard enough… check the distance of your front derailer … and shift it and see how its shifts off the chain rings and when you peddle… could be your chain.. if its old replace it… or lube it up… and then the back derailer… check where the chain goes thru the tiny sprockets. Regrease those bearings as well…. Am I missing something… hmmm
