okay so Ive been planning to change to 16t for a while from 19t, because its mostly all flat here, and im just wondering if my chain could be tensioned and reach 14t while still having 16t on? im on flip flop hubs so 16/14

depends on where your 16t is in your dropout already if it’s all the way to the front then yeah probably if it’s far back you might wanna lose a link or 2 or maybe even add a half link after you cut it, it’s very much possible it’ll just take some messing with
