Finally got to do my first overnight near San Diego. I guess I haven’t been training hard enough because bikepacking.com “easy” overnighter completely kicked my ass. Got some insane views and amazing trails and hardly ever ran into anyone. Was a beautiful experience. I’m glad I have a better gauge on the training I need and what a route looks like on paper vs irl. And all my bags held up great on some of the roughest unmaintained trails I’ve ever been on!

Congrats on your first backpacking trip! IME my first backpacking trip was by far the most challenging as well as my friends’ first trips I was on with them. Judging by the view on your first picture you were very courageous!
Dry bag on rack is always a big thumbs-up from me. 👍🏼
Looks amazing and fun! I would love to do something like this alone, sounds so freeing and peaceful. Just dont want to be kidnapped
Could you please tell me what your rear rack and dry bag are? How many litres is the dry bag?
