In order to ‘collect’ some more local Veloviewer tiles, I took my cyclocross bike and went exploring, including along the section of Fosse Way between the A5 (High Cross) and Fosse Meadows.

on Sunday I went out on my Cy cross bike for a bit of exploring I’ve been using V viewer Explorer which splits the map into one km squares and then every time you ride through it it ticks it off with the aim of ticking the squares off to make a bigger square of places that you’ve been to I’m missing a couple of local squares which is preventing my big Square getting any bigger but most of these are off-road routes so I decided I’d do one today [Music] I originally thought to tick this tile off I’d have to use a bridal W which has been closed for construction works but it turns out I just needed to ride to the end of the actual Road and this is me turning around at the end of that road I bought an insta 360 X4 camera Which films in 360° earlier in the summer but I haven’t really used it much for cycling so I thought I’d experiment with it on this ride hence the funky camera angles [Music] I then continue towards the A5 and towards High cross which I have been to before the only real route that I could use to get the next tile was to use fossway which I was quite excited about as I knew it was Offroad and this was the reason and I used my cycle cross bike [Music] I wasn’t sure how busy it would be but on this first section I didn’t see anybody apart from a dog and it’s own thank you I love how this camera allows me to get footage of myself when I’m riding on my own including these really cool camera [Music] angles given the amount of rain we’ve had recently and where this is located I was really surprised it wasn’t Mory but it was all fine to Ride Along [Music] [Laughter] the end from the A5 follows a narrow path but then at this point it opens up to the edge of a field I chose to start at the A5 end because I knew exactly where I would join that fruit and wouldn’t get lost whereas I wasn’t sure if I started from the other [Music] end it then turns from gravel into a a road [Music] surface it then goes past the fos Meadows Park entrance which is somewhere I haven’t been for a while but as a child I used to really like that Park and that was my exploring finished as I got back to the main road thanks for watching bye

Been keeping my eye open for your Veloviewer video. I’ve been down some very overgrown ’paths’ to grab an elusive tile 😉 Some interesting camera angles, too. It’s amazing to see just how much vibration your arms experience whilst cycling!
I live near here and didnt know this trail existed, I will have to get my MTB running again!
It's a really interesting route, for ages I hadn't realised tha High Cross was the centre of Roman England as the Watling Street (A5) and Fosse Way cross at that point. Excellent coffee at Masons coffee van at Fosse Meadows if you are out that way – Great video 🙂
