I got my cheap NOLOGO bike last year and people shat on it because it wasn’t a good bike. And yeah okay it’s a little heavy but I stopped caring, none of it matters.
I paid £75 for the bike, £100 for new wheels, rode on super cheap red rubber wheels and had fun.

This is the bike. Cheap, heavy, fun to ride!
I think when it comes to single speeds, it’s fun to just build, replace parts, ride cheaper bikes. It is fun!
I have a 6ku. You should hear the things people say to me. 🤣🤣🤣
You’ve the right idea! I picked up a 1985 road bike frame for free on Facebook marketplace. Made it a single speed planning to use it for a booze run bike. Rebuilt headset and bottom bracket, bought cheap Amazon brake levers and calipers and painted it. The most expensive part were the wheels from Santa fixie. Took it on a 80k last month and you wouldn’t believe the funny looks I got from the roadies on their bougie bikes 😂.
No one actually cares.
You’re talking to a subset of enthusiasts on the internet.
For the average person, 90% of properly-sized bikes are more than fine.

Walmart has the Concord Escort SS for $128. It’s a fine bike. Fun to ride.
