Found this TGTBT deal on FB near me Ontario Canada. I initially checked some sites and groups for stolen bikes. Nothing.

So, I did a reverse Google Image Search, and voila! The actual bike shows up for sale (legit) in AUS.

I’m curious what they are trying to do here? Possible robbery? I’ve been in contact with the seller, and they’re asking when I can pick up. So not any sort of wire fraud it would seem.

Anyways, careful out there folks.

Thoughts?

  1. Honestly wouldn’t know? If they don’t want you to come theirs to pick it up it’s clear as day, and they might be trying to rip you off

  2. i think they would probably say something like make a deposit and i’ll mail it to you maybe, i see tons of these for all sorts of stuff typically they are listed at some weird price like £76.99 or something and they will just use other people’s pictures from marketplace, it’s especially popular with those ebikes with the throttles and i was getting all excited thinking about getting one until i found the actual listing for about a grand 😆 its also really popular with the oculus quest vrs aswell
the craziest one i saw was a trek e-bike and the retail was about 12 grand and it was up for £600 didn’t look used at all and the only tell i could find was the profile picture was cropped wrong

  3. I actually saw this same bike here in Alberta haha. I actually messaged them to see what would happen, and it’s just a classic “I’ll hold for you, give me deposit first” kind of scam
