You can boot it from the inside, but I’d be shopping for a replacement

Yeah I’d be reluctant to ride that. I’d at least patch it from the inside and superglue it from the outside before considering.

Yes. That tyre looks like it’s really old and dry too, which would have made it more susceptible to cuts. Was it stored in sunlight or something?

Yes. Just bad luck. Good tires. Don’t give up on them.

300miles, did you buy it second hand because that tire looks a lot older.,

It’s dead.
GP5000 is a race tire with very fragile sidewalls, so this can happen. This is the compromise you make when you go for very low rolling resistance.

It looks dry as feck, how long was it stored before you rode on it?

I boot those and save them for winter on rollers when I’m bored of smart trainers.

I think you bought a used tire or stored them incorrectly. They look really old and worn out for ~300 miles>

I’d take them back to the retailer. They seem very old. Sorry to see that.

The rubber looks aged, like it’s a really old tyre. This tyre is ready for the bin, even if you patched it up you have to admit defeat, the rubber has had it, I do wonder how it looks this old though if you’re saying it’s fairly new?
Is it 300miles over years? It’s important to clarify because a lot of road riders will do that and more in a month and I’ve seen 15 year old tyres that look in better shape.

Chips on top are usually ok…side walls? don’t risk it.
