(And expensive to add) official Brompton Carbon seatpost is rusting inside already.
It goes over haleay down, all around.
I rarely used it ( i think I rode it only once in the rain) and it is always stored inside.
Its just under 8 months young.
Would that still be covered under warranty?
And how would this affect its safety/rigidity?

Safety wise you’re fine it’s likely surface rust so Brompton won’t do anything, you should have a rubber bung which would have prevented a lot of that rust build up though.
Ok, you got me there. A carbon seatpost .. to me this looks like metal? Am I so wrong?
is this a carbon seatpost though? i doubt it. I have one and mine doesn’t look one bit like yours.
