I pulled off my top cap to adjust some spacers and the plastic tube spacer fell apart into about 20 pieces.

I have to buy the whole top cap set from Canyon for AUD$29 which I would reluctantly do because it’s easy. However shipping is AUD$49 making it about an $80 piece of tube. No thanks.

Does anyone know the length this tube is? I am thinking I will either 3D print one or make it out of piece of aluminium tube.

Just go to your local hardware store and check the section with all the screws and bolts. They’ll likely have a plastic spacer similar to this you can buy and it will work just as well. Take it with you to compare before purchasing.

    Good luck.

I’m guessing its for the part of the screw that isn’t threaded so you can probably just measure that and go with it. You can get a mix pack of those spacers online for cheap if your not sure.

  3. There’s no need to over tighten,so that is its main purpose. Spacer/ feeler? Once it’s on that’s tight enough

I removed mine probably 7 years ago and I’m still alive. If you know how to stet the preload on your headset bearings it’s completely redundant.
