I’ve been looking for a good road bike and I found this one on marketplace he says it’s from 73 and has been stored for years. It looks to be in great condition, I really only do city biking.. I’ve managed to haggle him down to 300$. I just wanna know your guys opinion on it, is it worth it? And also any questions I should ask before getting it thanks!

  1. I generally pass on these due to, steel rims, cottered crank, and generally really old tech. If you want a vintage bike that’s one thing but to get into bicycling on a 50 year old bike (unless it was already on hand/free) seems strange

He’s right, it looks to be in great shape. If it fits you, would be fine for riding around the city.

A couple of the parts might be difficult to replace if you need or decide to, such as stem and bottom bracket, due to the different French sizes.

Yes there’s a lot of things to check. I can post a list for you if you like.

Is that a brooks saddle? I mean alone that is worth 150 so if your just going for vintage maybe ask for 200
