Road cycling to Trakai from Vilnius. Last week was very hard for me, I was feeling tired, down and unmotivated. But seems this ride “fixed” me. In this episode, I take you along for a slower ride through beautiful Lithuanian landscapes, and share what’s been on my mind. Sometimes, cycling isn’t about speed or distance — it’s about getting back to yourself.

[Music] [Applause] [Music] for the past week I’ve been feeling so dumb with the training so fatigued and mentally and physically and just getting out on a bike even is very very hard for me i’m just too tired and it is a recovery week and I don’t feel like it’s doing much today we are doing a route to Tra it’s like the castle on an island it’s very known touristy place in Lithuania anyways easy ride beautiful views i hope we’re going to see some windows wallpapers and also chill by the lake with some food with us let’s go [Music] i have no idea where I’m going actually it’s my wife who crafted this route but she told me the sketchest part is done already and now there’s like a road that that’s not crowded at all it’s like it’s far away from the main road basically that’s it so it’s nice to discover something new after so many years of cycling [Music] no for the context look at this criminal i tried to drink from this bottle my second bottle and look what happened yep i haven’t bought new bottles yet it’s windy day but when you’re not pushing watts it doesn’t matter so this is exactly what this ride is about no metrics no FTP no watts no heart rate just wipes finding the joy of just cycling again wow [Music] this is the official part when we are out of the city [Music] apparently this is not the way to track but we’re going to get some mineral water it’s like free for all and you can just get some water it’s It’s kind of unique in Lithuania cheers so basically free electrolytes such a good stop good job how did you find this place accidentally i just saw this sign brown sign that tells free electrolytes no that tells that that’s a famous place all right and I got interested nice and we are there welcome to Tra i’ll show you around guys don’t worry feeling [Music] the vibes right [Music] go [Music] [Music] this is the famous castle [Music] we’re having kibet they look just like that they have meat inside and whatever maybe like some cheese yeah like that with a view like this [Music] [Music] [Music] and you know my take out of this ride is probably when you don’t take it too serious that’s where you enjoy it the most so I I guess that’s what happened today i enjoyed this ride way too much so guys as you can see I’m keeping it real with you last week was honestly bad and I couldn’t get my camera out it’s just feeling down without energy fatigued without the motivation and sparkle in your eyes looking at the bike and the bike doesn’t look sexy yeah you understand and you get it that it’s wrong you need a rest and then you’re taking a rest and all of a sudden you feel guilty because you’re resting too much come on and that’s the toxic relationship with the sports and I think it’s very important to recognize and especially uh in social media these days all you see is the best days of the people lives biggest projects biggest cycles biggest challenges being done and so on but no one is sharing the hard things the things that are like real that are happening to all of us you know it’s not I’m not the only one and probably you’re not the only one if it’s happening to you so it’s very hard to manage these things but you should try for the sake of the sports just why you started [Music] so this is actually the same route now so we probably going to stop for some ice cream and just close this ride thank you for watching if I’m not seeing you
