Road Cycling Views — Masuria, Poland • 4K HDR

This time, we visited Masuria, a region in northern 🇵🇱Poland. It’s known as the “Land of a Thousand Lakes,” but it wasn’t the numerous lakes that drew us here. Instead, it was the endless picturesque hills and winding roads lined with old trees — a perfect place for road cycling. As it turned out, not only were the trees old, but so was the asphalt in many places, and sometimes it was entirely missing. Still, the breathtaking, colorful fields of poppies and phacelia made up for the slightly worse roads. Other cyclists on the road? An average of 1 per 130 km!

We stayed in Giżycko and did two routes, one 116 km and one 63 km. On the first day, roads closed due to the Polish Rally forced us to take a detour on gravel roads, but they were quite smooth and passable on road bikes.
