My grandfather past away 15 years ago. He was a life-long cyclist and loved this bike. Look kg 171 with butted carbon frame and all the original campy groupset.
After he passed, my mom set up the bike for herself to ride. She added the inline break levers (haven't taken them off yet, sue me) and had everything tuned up after it hadn't been ridden in a few years. As much as she tried, the bike never fit her so the bike ended up sitting unused for nearly 15 years.
A few weeks ago I moved closer to home and found it sitting in the garage collecting dust. I've always loved it for the color and overall cool factor, and when I told my mom I was interested in riding it she let me have it. The stem she had put on it was about 1 inch long to compensate for her shorter height, so that got replaced with a new Soma stem along with new tape, look keo pedals and a saddle I had laying around. Still shifts perfectly even after not being ridden for that long.
It's definitely not stiff, but is super comfortable and an honor to ride a bike that's been passed down generations.

Butted carbon means it is like held together by lugs or is it carbon that is joined to carbon junctures?
This is such a cool bike! I have such a love for all things LOOK. The Campy is so sick as well!
I remember those bikes, I rode a Motobecan bake in the early eighties, same color way. Always wanted those blue Mavic rims and hubs. Dope ride brother
