We got a great deal on a used S-Works Aethos frameset a few months back, and my wife decided to put the savings toward custom paint inspired by a vase we have from Musubi Kiln (second pic). Velocolour did a fantastic job replicating the design.
In particular, we love how well they integrated the gold leaf accents of California poppies and our dog, who passed away from cancer earlier this spring.Β My wife is 4+ w/kg and won't have an issue when we're in the Alps again next month, but we figure that honoring the dog will add a few extra watts at the top of the Loze.
Weight is around 6.5 kg (14.3 lb) with pedals.Β It's not a weightweenie build, but this is replacing a far heavier Allez Sprint that's done 25,000+ miles in the past few years.

14.3lbs excuuuuuse me?!?
Pretty.
Wait how does the dog play into this? Because the way Iβm reading it sounds like he got cremated and turned into gold leaf?
Beautiful. This may be my favorite bikeporn post ever.
Beautiful and serene paint job! ππΌππΌ
