I am looking to become an avid bike packer and understand that there is no set gear list but it is all a bit overwhelming for me to just start.
I am looking to do a few test weekend trips to get a feel for the journey’s but I am unsure what gear is essential or recommended to start with before I go down the rabbit hole of fully decking out my bike.
I have chucked a photo of my current road bike and was looking to see if i could convert it to a touring bike when I want to take these weekend trips.
Any tips are fully welcomed!! My current mindset is wondering if I should get a rear bike rack for panniers or just start out with a middle saddle bag and front bag?
If i do really enjoy these firs trips I will probably get a hybrid touring bike and proper gear for longer trips! Thanks!
