For every one I see using the bike lane, I see 5 that are in the middle of the road for no reason.

The sign at the end says to request green wait on the line but then there’s no line there. Also other than that sign and the green bike route sign I don’t see any markings indicating that’s a bike lane. This is at least partly on your city it’s kind of crazy it’s not marked more.
I love how many cars you pass though! Just shows how inefficient cars are. One of the many reasons I love bike commuting, you’re basically always making progress and not sitting in traffic forever.

Is it just poorly marked as a bike lane?
They’re not that wide in my city (when they’re not seperated) so cars can’t park in them without sticking out.

Damn dude look at all that traffic you caused!

That does not look like a bike lane. If it is, shame on your locality. If it isn’t, shame on them for not converting it.

Well, I don’t think that’s a bike lane, so I’m not sure why it’s a problem?

I’d blame this on the town. If that’s really a designated bike lane, then it isn’t marked worth a damn. One could arguably forgive the people parking. But one must ask whether the municipality is being willfully negligent.

And on trash day all the trash bins block the whole bike lane so we have to resort to going in the street.

I just got back from riding to the grocery, on my way there I was stopped at a light that has a big green box for bikes. A car was stopped in the paint. It was only me, rather than a group of commuters, but he sheepishly backed up behind the green when he saw me.
Maybe it will make him more aware / careful of bikers on the road in the future.

So, this is when I usually start making physical contact with the car’s mirrors as I pass by.

What device are you using to record? I’m looking for something similar to record my bike rides.

Colorado has so many urban cowboys and coal rollers surprisingly (maybe?)

Is that shoulder the cars are parked on marked as a bike lane anywhere? I don’t see any signage indicating such; though I would use it like it’s being used in this video when traffic is slow, but take the lane rather than weave in and out of the parking lane when traffic is flowing. It’s rare in my area to have shoulders wide enough to park on be labeled as bike lanes (usually we only get 3 feet, often including gutter and drain grates within that 3 feet and disappearing completely just before major intersections (to make room for turning lanes for the cars.

I’ve never once seen a bike lane not marked as such, I wouldn’t assume this to be one at all

u/Reverend_Rosco could you explain how this cyclist could plan the route better to use bike lanes and not have to share the road with cars?

Edit: Oh I see the marking for the light [is in the lane](https://www.google.com/maps/@39.8271087,-105.0720703,3a,75y,355.92h,38.71t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sJOGMunbJkLA0oFI8Q7OgQw!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fcb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26pitch%3D51.290954565942286%26panoid%3DJOGMunbJkLA0oFI8Q7OgQw%26yaw%3D355.9232568122227!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDYxNi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D) so that’s not a bike lane. Looks like it becomes a bike lane after this light though.
