Hoping someone here has some insight. My AXS rear derailleur isn’t shifting from the largest cog (easiest gear) right away. I have to hit the shift button 3–4 times before it finally moves. You can see in the attached video that the derailleur registers the shift (green light flashes), but there’s a delay in actually moving the chain.
Once it does shift into that cog, it will go down and back up through the gears just fine—until I get back to the biggest gear. Then the problem returns and I’m back to needing multiple shifts to get out of the big gear.
So far, I’ve:
• Replaced the battery with a fully charged one
• Removed and re-paired everything in the AXS app
• Tried micro-adjustments in the app
Still no luck. Has anyone run into this before have ideas on what else I can try? Thanks in advance!

Check your shifter batteries. Mine was doing that about a month ago and my HU said low battery assumed it meant the derailleur. 7 miles into a ride my right shifter was completely dead.
If the derailleur is registering the shift and you hear the motor attempting to shift, my guess would be bent derailleur hanger? I’ve had that before and it caused bad shifting in only a few gears
Could be a few things….Chain too short, incorrect b-gap, bent hanger or all of the above.
(Your micro adjust sounds off too, definitely too much chain noise on the cassette)
It’s because your chain is too short. There’s so much pressure on the derailleur it not able to move down to the next cause. Size your chain correctly and you should be good.
If the LED on the RD is lighting up, the shifter is probably fine. It would be interesting to see what happens if you take the wheel off and try the same thing. It may also be interesting to connect the axs app and see if the micro adjust number and cog numbers stay the same or change in an expected way.
A weird one tho, would probably recommend reaching out to Sram support. They’re usually pretty helpful in my experience.
Loosen the low limit the tiniest little bit. If it’s a tad too far in, the derailleur doesn’t quite realize it’s in first gear so it doesn’t shift to second because it thinks it’s already there. Sounds weird I know, but it is a known bug
Poor derailleur
Too much friction in the shift cable and housing
Chain is way too short. Start there.
You should burn down the shop that installed that chain.
But I would bet no shop installed that waaay too short chain.
As other people have stated your chain is way too short. You should use srams setup manual to find the proper way to size the chain. It also looks like your chain might be routed improperly through the derailleur and that is why it makes so much noise when you’re pedaling even in your lower gears.
