  1. I was really hoping we’d be surprised and get 1×13 — it feels a little underwhelming compared to SRAMs announcement yesterday. For a 1x setup, why would I choose this over SRAMs 13 speed?

    Seriously, what’s the point? Lol
    On SRAM you can choose 10-44, 10-46 and 10-52 for wireless rear derailleurs.
    And then there’s Shimano, releasing two wireless rear derailleurs with the same cassette size. What’s the point? Why not make the grx Di2 support the 10-45 so you can just use the xtr Di2 if you want the bigger cassette. Maybe price, but that tech could have trickled down to cheaper groups already, if they didn’t wait so long.

    Just ordered my 2x grx 825 di2 last week ! I’m curious to see how different it will be from XTR, but I’ll be happy with the 2x anyways.

  4. So in a hierarchy seems like grx would be comparable to ultegra while xtr would be a dura ace as far as gravel riding?

    Based off of derailleur being ~40 grams lighter and info being released first

    Believe you can also pair the mid size XT RD with the 9-45 cassette with the grx shifter if I read the prev XT release correctly. Also love that I don’t need a whole new fricking bike frame like you do with SRAM’s new 13sp as they require UDH. Not everyone wants to buy a new frame every other year.

  6. No 165 cranks, no power meter. Would have to use three different solutions to get gears, power, and cranks. Shimano, what are we doing here?

    I find it somewhat odd that they dont have a GS option for the 9-45 which I thought would be very popular for gravel

  8. I quite literally just bought and installed a new Optislick cable for my RD-RX400 which I only bought because I realized that the Jagwire Pro kit I bought entailed removing the Supacaz tape I also bought a week ago.

    Guess that’s going back after all.

  10. Will the new 1×12 setup with a 11-51 cassette be compatible with larger (>42T) off-brand chain rings?

  11. Firstly any idea of cost and is there an upgrade kit?

    Would like ideally to continue to run my existing 10-45 setup as I don’t need the lower gearing on my terrain.
