Shocking video shows the extent of ‘serious disorder’ in Salford, Greater Manchester, this afternoon as cars driven by masked young people screeched by a gathered crowd.
A white Fiat 500 could be seen being driven erratically with the boot open, frequently mounting the curb. The car sped along, narrowly missing a crowd and passing traffic on more than one occasion.
As well as the Fiat, a black car could also be seen speeding up and down, at one point with several figures appearing to be clinging to the roof and hanging out of the windows. The car’s front bumper including the registration plate was missing.
Police have since responded robustly to what they have called “serious disorder” on Lower Broughton Road this afternoon (June 11).
GMP have said that bricks were thrown at officers and the windscreen of a police vehicle was smashed.
The force has since confirmed that a 16-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.
