Ive been running brooks c17 for 2 years i find on any ride longer than 50km especially bikepacking i find i get pain on my ass where my seatbones contact that saddle. Is this just the way of the world. What are my options here and what would you recommend.

Is this something that has always happened? Or is this a new development?
Check that the seatpost is adjusted right, first and foremost. I run a B17 and the first few long rides I took, my seatbones were miserable. Raising my saddle a bit too encourage a more forward-rotated pelvic posture solved that for me.
On YouTube people say good things about the Ergon SMC but everyone is different and the right saddle for me might not be for you. If you have a bike fitter near you maybe hire them to find the right saddle for your bum. Best of success with r/bikefit
