welcome back to day 51 of biking from Norway to South Africa and day two of biking in Germany we had a bit of work and like housekeeping tasks to do this morning so we got kind of a late start and the weather was not looking too promising so that wasn’t too fun but we got going anyway cuz we couldn’t delay any longer the rain started pretty soon into our ride and it was kind of in and out all day um we got poured on pretty severely a few times and biking through farmland in the rain really brought out some rough smells um but we pushed on then it started like really pouring and honestly it was kind of fun it wasn’t too cold so like I didn’t have to worry about that so once my clothes and shoes were like 100% soaked and you just kind of let yourself be in the rain it was actually kind of fun i don’t know if that’s just me trying to spin a positive situation out of it but yeah it wasn’t too bad and yeah it didn’t last for too long so nothing we couldn’t handle but then we were fighting the wind for a little bit and wind is just never fun um but after it rains slugs come out and there were so many every black dot on this road is a slug and so I was trying to like weave in and out and not crush them um we kept going for a little bit longer and we weren’t really sure how far we wanted to go today because the accommodation options were not great like we either had to go really far or stop kind of before we wanted to so we didn’t book anything until like really late in the day so we could you know see how we were feeling and see how we were handling the weather and after another big downpour and having had wet feet for like hours and it being 8:00 p.m we decided to get a campsite nearby the owner was super nice and gave us some beer and a really nice room to sleep in and there was this beautiful rainbow when we pulled into the campsite um and yeah that’s all for today
