See above. This metal plate popped off my pedal when unclipping my cleat. Bought used, not sure what the previous owner did to get to this point.
Thinking about just supergluing it back on or leaving it off entirely. I'd prefer not to buy new pedals if possible. Open to any input.

Just superglue it back on, it was clearly already glued by the marks on the plastic
Clean it and epoxy glue would be better than original I think
Glue but I would use a polyurethane glue, which will conform better to the surface and endure impact loads better. I use E6000 available at most Home Depots or Lowes.
It’s also ok to buy new/used pedals. The plate isn’t essential, but it’s in constant contact with the cleat—80 revolutions per minute.
The pedal is missing the wing on the outside… it was damaged and repaired, happens often with look blade pedals because the wing sticks out like a sore thumb and can easily be damaged with a pedal strike or crash.
it will still work but will be less stable as it now has less contact points that originally designed. (but will still work)
Use epoxy for a stronger bond, clamp it down and make sure it is level.
It can mess with your fit if it is not completely flat.
Superglue… it’s been like six years for my ISSI pedals and no signs of problems.
Glue it back on.
I’d use an epoxy, not CA.
Recommended epoxy in the industry used for bonding metal and composites is 3M DP-420. Typical use for me was adhering front derailleur mounts on carbon frames.
