the Alps the high mountains were the venue for stage seven of the Dofini the hardest stage on paper the queen stage of this 8-day race that was led by Té Pogacha he’d reclaimed the jersey the day before with a stunning massive attack on the final short climb today though is all about long climbs mightily long climbs quadfell coming after the Madlin and then a climb to Valmini at 1,800 meters above sea level a climb that had been used in smaller races previously this was its first outing at world tour level by the time he got the first images at the top of the quad fair Mattel Jorgensson was already in domestique mode that apogal was out of them they were chasing on behind and they were chasing a breakaway that included Human Baldi bitra was there as well septus a satellite rider for Vizmissa bike bitra would take the maximum points at the top of the second climb of the day the gap was only 13 seconds though to the yellow jersey florian Lipovitz alongside Yonas Vingor Remco were all there as well paul Sixas doing another brilliant ride at the front and entertaining us for one final time on one of the big all category descents was Roman Baldi dreaming of being a hero just for one more day on his penultimate day in the saddle as a pro bike rider it was set to be a big ask however but he was nevertheless trying to build an advantage that advantage was at 20 seconds with 56 km remaining there were riders trying to regroup and get back on as Bald extended that advantage to almost a minute inside 38 km from the line but there was valley road left and the final 16 km climb to take on too not everybody was riding behind this Malisa bike decided to try and attack just as Pavo Civokov had returned to help out Tare Pogach and Civ would work well he’d go to the front to try and prevent more attacks riding a long way down the end of the descent and then into the valley bald was clocking silly speeds above 90 kmh giving it all for one final golden goodbye he was out of the general classification so they weren’t worried behind however there were plenty with designs on stage win approaching the final climb his gap was dipping 39 seconds with 23 and 1/2 to go but it wasn’t perhaps as relaxed as Yonas Vinguhor made it look civ continued to ride bacha leading and flexing his muscles a little psychologically interesting this one he was playing domestique for the domestique grabbing him food and drinks as the rest sat in the line intermediate sprint taken on and won by Balde with the rest of the bonus seconds going to Tobias Harlon Johannes [Applause] so to the final climb 37 seconds of a gap but it was 16 1/2ks long with a gradient of almost 7% but it would not be UAE nor Vizma who would take up the chase in fact it was Deathlon with Brunai looking after Paul Sixas and chasing down the former Dick Atlan rider he was caught just as Sepkus attacked still 13ks to the line here once more frenchman Sivakov pulled things back and then he ramped up the pace something was building something was bobbling and then yet again just as it had done 24 hours previously it exploded bulgar on the attack this time up the saddle vingor trying to follow as well looking around not able to and with 11.8 8 km to go t Patcha was away in Nepal following already at 30 seconds from Pogacha with 10ks to the line lipovitz and Vingu still had Pogach in their sights and it looks so easy almost too easy for him puggard in fine form vingor leaving Lipovitz behind and still at 16 seconds on his way to a 10th victory of the season unless he could be pulled back the world champion vingor was trying he was visibly deep in his effort liipovich still well ahead of looking good for the white jersey i had Johannes with him who was having his best day of the week they were at 125 with 4 km still to go though and Vingor although holding the gap didn’t look like he was going to be able to bring it back appearances can be deceptive but Pogacha looked like he still had more to give adas Vingor rode in behind bugattacha was allowed to ride up to the finish line and celebrate three-stage winds in the week once on the flat on a shorter climb and this time in the mighty mountains in the land of the mountain goats it would be possibly the man on his way to being the goat who would take the victory an extension of the lead vingor working so hard to limit the damage to 14 seconds plus the bonuses coming in at 238 down however Lieovitz by this time had already crossed the line tare Pogacha with victory number 98 of his pro career a 10th of the season a third just this week and on his way barring any collapse on the final day to Dofian victory for the first time in his career this was the top 10 on the day tare Pugacha untouchable and looking like he could have given more he said so much in the interview as well after trying not to go too deep as he stepped onto the podium it was another day for him and his team to celebrate in terms of the general classification the numbers show it’s not over yet but it is a more than comfortable lead for Pogach a minute and 1 second with Lipovitz in third place having almost two minutes to stay on the podium a third day in yellow this week for Pogachar and the 24th time in history that Pogachar and Vingor have finished one two 186 by the way in favor of Pachad going to stage eight and looking at it it’s a different design a different type of stage and those looking to put tactical plans into place might want to do it as it could be the last chance saloon to challenge the leader it’s also the final stage of Hman Bald’s career he of course if there’s anything left in the tank will be going for goal too [Music] as always you can watch the final day of the Dolof on TNT Sports [Music] [Music]

  1. Evenepoel is just not a GC rider. Great TT, great for one day races. Great on hills. But he does not have what it takes for a GC guy. Why focus on him so much instead of Lipowitz?

  2. So another pretty boring tdf again this year 🤷‍♂️ look I'm not taking from the two riders these guys are each others only competition but it's getting a little bit boring, I'm nearly preferring women's racing at this stage because it throws a wildcard win every now and then, we gain nothing from one or two just absolutely dominating every race they enter it's exciting racing I want to see where everyone has a shot and who knows who could win

  4. Great performance for both Tadej and Vingo, the just race on another level. Its just nice to see the respect they have for each other. Two very great sportsmen and gentleman
    💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

  5. For sure his dopping. Too strong unlike his rival Remco and Jonas thier tired but Tadej just relax thats impossible if ur not dopping. You cant see tadej tired, after the finish line his so relax unlike remco deep breathing

  6. ASO UCI should ban all yellow team jerseys in every events there are a yellow leder jersey like that not just the Tout, its impossible to watch which team and who it is. Makes for incredible obnoxious viewing
