Looking for my first road bike mainly for commuting and just riding around for fun. Listed at 75$ and I don’t know much about bikes, would it be worth at $50-75$?
These old steel bikes ride very nicely and are worth some elbow grease and money to get them running smoothly, but the shifters require a little experience (and willingness if you‘re used to brifters).

These old bikes are relatively easy to work on if you have good mechanical skills and attention to detail. If you are bringing it to a shop you will spend hundreds having it tuned up and basic upgrades like tires. If you are able to do it yourself safely it is a good deal. But be careful, your life may depend on the quality of your work!

Go for it if you can live with downtube shifters.
