Does anyone have any recommendations of how to attach large water bottles and other stuff to the side of the front rack. I've seen the fork cages you can get but I have no mounting bosses and cable ties would slip down. The rack is a converted rear rack so paniers would work but the basket is in the way.

Any other recs welcome I am a first timer, just keep them budget friendly!

  1. Doesn’t answer your question, but please strap the front rack basket to your handlebar! I’ve seen some instances where the bolt to the frame/fork fails, and the rack falls forward, causing a crash! If you strap the basket, you’re safe!

  2. FlexTapeUltra on

I attach cargo cages to my boss-less fork with p clamps. It is secure enough to carry light loads, such as a Nalgene or lightly packed dry bag for example, and can be made even more secure with some hose clamps to prevent the clamps from slipping downwards. The clamps themselves will only cost about $2.50 a pair at your local hardware store.

You can also make your own eyelets on the front rack’s legs with some metal stock and smart thinking
