earlier this year I got this lithium trolling motor battery but I waited 6 months to do a video review on it frankly because I couldn’t believe the price point most fishermen I think at this point they’re well aware of the advantages and the only reason they haven’t switched is because of price bigname brands that I was aware of if I was replacing a 12volt lead acid battery you’re going from a battery that cost you know $120 to $17 and you’re replacing with a battery that cost $6 $700 if you’re talking about a 24v system and a bigger trolling motor then you’re talking about even more money but the price point on this I couldn’t believe which is why I waited 6 months again to do this video the battery I was replacing with this lead acid battery yes it’s covered in fish scales long story but it was a very good battery it’s a 12vt 130 amp hour I think it retailed for about $170 when I bought it at public lands and it served me well for a few years but this is much better and I’ll tell you why other than weight which is one of the most well-known advantages of the lithium but in my opinion not the most important one this one weighed 22 lb the battery I replaced weighed 58 lb and that’s you know especially important for smaller boats in say a kayak a fishing kayak or a canoe that can be really really important but the real advantage to me comes down to power output when you’re running a lithium battery as you go from 100% charge all the way down to 0% and it dies you’re getting the same power output it is literally making your trolling motor run just as fast when it’s at 20% charge as when it’s 100% until it finally dies which means effectively you can run it a lot longer because if you’ve used these lead acid type of batteries you’ll know that as you discharge that battery it gets weaker and weaker and weaker so much so that by the time you get to 50% charge or below it becomes almost useless which is why I was able to replace 130 amp hour with a 100 amp hour battery theoretically I could actually replace a 200 power battery because of the fact that you can run these all the way down to zero the third Advantage which is one of the biggest ones in my opinion is the lithium batteries should last a lot longer they they have a lot more charge discharge cycles that they can go through in the life of the battery so where a lead acid battery might last you 2 3 years depending on how much you fish the lithium battery should last you 10 years now obviously I didn’t wait 10 years to do this video so I can’t personally couch for that but that by all accounts is a fundamental property of lithium batteries and that to me almost made the $6,700 worth it which I didn’t spend but if you do the math you know if you’re going through 3 four five six lead acid batteries by the time your lithium’s done will it paid for itself even not counting the weight savings and the fact that you could use it for longer on the water but what shocked me was the fact that this battery retails for $280 and it’s replacing a lead acid battery that that costs more than half of that so it was almost unbelievable to me which is why I was like something must be wrong with this so I got on the water I used it I’ve recharged it many times I have sat and spot locked in Wind when I go out fishing especially if I’m Musky fishing or something I will be fishing for 12 14 hours I will fish sun up to sun down and when I had my le acid battery that meant that if it was a windy day I had to constantly play the wind I had to always position my boat if it was a decent wind to do the drift With the Wind so I can minimize how much I was on the pedal but with this battery I’ve been I’ve really tested it I’ve been spot locking all day in high winds where it’s going speed you know five six out of 10 max speed for just holding it at that speed for a long time and I have yet to kill this battery on the water and it has weight Savings in my boat to me at this point at that price it’s well worth the investment one disadvantage of the lithium if you’re not aware you do need a different type of charger if you try to use the type of charger you’re using for your lead acid battery probably not going to be able to fully charge your lithium battery you may even run into some other problems so I wouldn’t recommend that so you will need a different type of charger a battery charger specifically for your lithium battery so that is a onetime investment that if you’re making the switch for the first time you’ll have to get the one I got was also from lithium time and I think cost uh about 115 to maybe at most $150 total investment for the lithium time charger and this battery which again is just a 12vt so I have a smaller boat so that works for me would be around $400 total but again you know if you’re trying to use your trolling motor all day your lead acid battery probably cost close to $200 at this point if you have a you know 130 to 200 amp hour battery to run a 55 thrust trolling motor another advantage that I was not aware of that I’m now aware of is these charge remarkably fast you know to if I had this lead acid battery that I used to have fully depleted it would take four five 6 7 8 hours I don’t know I basically have to charge it overnight but this thing if I use this battery all day and put it on the charger I couldn’t believe how fast it was fully charged within 2 hours you have this thing fully charged or one of those lithiums and that’s if you’ve you know run it all day which is a big Advantage you know you charge it over dinner and it’s good to go again again but again the biggest advantages are the fact that it’s giving you full out power output all day and the overall lifetime of the battery is much much longer said right now this battery retails at $280 it’s being advertised as if that’s 50% off but that price has been advertised for over a year so I’m pretty sure it’s just one of those marketing things that is the price which is what I found so unbelievable $280 you could save an additional 3% on that battery or the 24 volt or any or the charger with discount code absolute you’ll you’ll save an additional $30 to $40 on this battery using that discount code but again I I wasn’t just going to do a review on this from one time out the price was so so bizarre to me that I had to get some significant time on the water I I fish at least once twice a week and when I do fish at least one of those days is is usually a full day on the boat of running the trolling motor so I feel like I’m I’m I’m fairly confident that this is the real deal I hope you found this video informative thank you for watching and stay tuned for the next video because we are going to Canada tomorrow in the French River to fish for the biggest muskies I’ve ever seen my personal best came from there 54 iner a number of years ago so it’s the true land of giants I’ll be running the trolling motor battery a lot and hopefully catching some big fish thanks for watching stay tuned for the next one [Music]

Someone doesn't know the difference between Grade A and Grade B lithium batteries.
Insane as now good 12v 100ah lifepo4's are selling at $119.
In my motorized kayak I ditched my 58lb LA 12v 100ah with the same in Li Time. My new New port 1300 watt motor I bought Li Time 36V 55ah. Very good choice no matter the money
I appreciate your effort in producing this video information. But what many of us need to see is the long-term results. I fish 3 plus days a week and my lead acid deep cycle batteries last me 7 years or more. I've ran the math and these large lithium batteries are just too expensive compared to a lead acid battery and how long they really last. We also need to see a long-term actual comparison of 10-year comparison of AGM batteries and their costs to lithium batteries. Comparison of the warranty period is useless data we need actual long term, 7 years or more, head-to-head results and cost analysis. I'm currently using some AGM batteries going on 10 years and they're still running strong as when new. I will admit that I charge my batteries as soon as I get home from the lake.
I just got 2 on Amazon with bluetooth for 390 love to see how they work on my 16 foot pontoon
Well it feb 2024 and they will only sell me 3 batteries at 179, BS
Well-done. Made the switch some time ago to 2X LiFePO4 in series for the TM and 2 more in parallel for the electronics. Could not be happier. One thing to note wrt to the TM. These do operate at a higher nominal voltage than SLAs. Not sure about others, but Humminbird/Minn Kota advised NOT running my Ultrex at more than 80% of max speed on the LiFePO4's , else that could damage it.
I got the bluetooth and being able to look at my charge on the water is pretty good game changer also
Lithium is the way to go
I have a 24v battery from that same maker and it has worked great now for over 2 yrs and came with its own charger.
Can you only order these online or are they offered in stores? I looked on their website and couldn’t find local dealers.
I got the same one and a pair of them on my 24v Rhodan in a salt water rig and they have been great for 2 years now.
Two thumbs up and new subscriber!! Thanks for a great video! Great timing for me. Just in time as I'm upgrading my TM to 24v and LiFePO4 batteries are part of the plan. I've been eyeing the LiTime batteries for sometime and you just reinforced my plan to go that route.
So these batteries are costing 300-400-700$ and last less than 1hour 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I notice the video was posted about 8 months ago. Are you still liking the Li Time?
Is there charger water proof or resistant
Bought two of these and both wouldn’t take a full charge. Li Time customer service was brutal. Zero help and will not take these batteries back on return. Don’t waste your money.
I have LITime ( (2) 12V 100 TM and (1) 12V 150 Ah cranking) and extremely happy! Had them for over a year and zero issues. I can go two full days of heavy fishing and not drain them.
😊🎉
This battery setup still treating you good?
I apologize if you already answered this question, that said, how many hours of use will the battary get?
IMO, as time goes by people realize these are much less inexpensive to make than we are led to believe so competitors bring the price down yet still make money. Good for all but those who over charge.
However, as he made clear we still aren't certain of longevity but judging by some of the expert tear downs…they are probably fine…hope so. A 10 or so year lifetime makes these batteries a huge bargian in itself.
You can run them to zero…but you shouldn't…
Do you need a special charger? I want to use it my boat and I have a charger built in the boat.
Can you put two of these together for 24volts?
Q was
i have 2 on a 18ft fireglass boat they last 5 hours ar the most trolling

I got 3 12 volts for my 36 volt Minn Kota last spring. I fish a lot for stripers in New England . Sometimes I’m trolling in fast river current or I’m anchored up with the trolling motor fishing chunks or whole mackerel in spot lock . I have the Bluetooth model size 27 models. They are absolutely fantastic. I’ve fished 12-14 hours in a 5-6 mph current and never ran these batteries out . I’m really impressed as well .

In your opinion, I plan to upgrade to this battery for my pond prowler which I use a 50 lb thrust trolling motor. In your experience how much run time do you think I can achieve.
It will be a cold day in hell when I put a lithium battery in my boats.
Anyone know if they’re any good as a graph battery. Specifically live scope and 360 and structure scan?
Also will a charger that works for acid lead standard deep cycle and lithium batteries work on these li time batteries?
My son and I where out on the lake for 4 hours run minnkota 50 on 3-5, used 2%. Awesome! I bought from the company directly.

I own the exact same one. Have had zero problems. I tested it when I bought it. I was able to make seven trips before a recharge. Now I will charge it every four or five trips.highly recommend the change.i paid 230$ well worth it
Yeap.bought 2 100ah lithium batteries this winter for trolling motor.anxious to see what they do.mainlybswitched for weight savings
Wow. What charger are you using that charges in 2 hours?
I just got a Minn kota Trvola 24 volt. What model battery would I need?? (I know I need two. Thanks
Those Li-Time batteries are one of the most expensive available in my country. They are not cheap. There's ones on eBay for less than half the price of those.
“Only reason they aren’t using them is price” – false.. Lithium do not like cold temperature’s, so this must be taken into consideration in colder climates. If storing your boat off-site and you can’t remove the batteries during winter, lithium is a poor choice. Lithium is also a poor choice for anglers who fish in colder climates unless you have a way to heat them. Being stuck in the middle of a lake during cold temps is not fun. Lithium is also harder to determine how much of a charge you have remaining due to no drop in voltage during use, so technically you could run out of juice instantly, vs AGM which will slowly die, and the slow voltage drop can be read on a meter unlike lithium. Lithiums also run with a BMS system which are prone to potential issues unlike AGM, more electronics + early technology = more likely to fail. The creator should’ve mentioned some of these things to watch out for imo.
Bought mine last week
On sale $169
