The Judgement of Paris was a tasting in 1976 that pitted the best of French and American wine against each other. French, American, and British wine experts blind tasted American and French wines and an American wine won in both the red and white categories.

does France make the best wine in the world well these guys don’t think so and they haven’t done since 1976 when they did a wine tasting and their Chardonnay was voted by a load of French smells as the best wine in the world but I don’t want a Chardonnay i’m going to have a go on their Cabernet it’s 2017 from the Nappa Valley it’s 110 quid a bottle so I hope it’s bloody good let’s pop it in there and have a little go on it we’re in Bristol we’ve got a lovely view it’s almost summer and I’m getting a bit excited and that smells like a luscious plum bombshell perfect for a roof garden it’s the sort of wine that just coats the whole mouth in blackberries and cream and slips down so so easily and the sort of wine that makes me want to leave my car here and get the train

  1. Wine tastes like cream and berries… ofc muricans like it. Heck make one that covers your mouth in bigmac taste. Will be a bestseller in murica 😂

  2. For crying out loud. Montrachet every day, fancy bribing at wine contests has nothing to do with the quality of the wine. There's even 10% pinot noir in the Montrachet, will make you happy any day. For a budget version try Clos des mouches.

  3. Oh man. As a Californian it is so incredible seeing Montelena on the global stage, If any winery deserves it, they do. There is no winery more historic than they are (except for, of course, Stag's Leap who was the other winner in the Judgement of Paris).

  4. You seem like a likeable fellow but even if I was a billionaire I wouldn’t be spending 110 quid on any wine all tastes like fruit mixed with vinegar
