I bought a Decathlon RCR helmet. Good price and has the latest MIPS, however, the naked helmet was shipped in a large cardboard box with no additional padding inside.
Do you think the inevitable chucking and dropping of the box will have damaged the integrity of its protection? There is no visible damage to the helmet or the box, but the shell of the helmet was facing down.

I’d return that. I recently purchased a Giro directly from Giro and it was packaged in the original helmet retail box, then another box.
If there isn’t any damage to the box I don’t know what could possibly have happened to it that wouldnt just be the same normal handling when using the helmet

Get of off Reddit and go return that.
Then ask the seller “why did you ship it like this?” , just for facts.
I have a feeling you bought this as a restocked sale item. It probably didn’t have the original packaging anymore and this is what happens when you buy stuff on sale. If I’m wrong…. Return it
All our lids arrive in original packaging boxes that aid in protecting the helmet during shipment.
No telling if this one has been damaged.

I dont get why everyone is so bothered by this??? The box is intact, the Helmet is intact. What don’t people like? no unboxing experience? Whats the fucking problem? geez

Please stop. It’s a helmet. The box looks to be in perfect condition. There aren’t any marks on the inside to indicate it was thrown around. And it’s designed to take some banging around. If it was thrown to the ground at speed with a head in it then it needs to be replaced. This helmet is fine.
