  1. I have used Reddit so much for info on bicycle touring and cycling in general that I wanted to give back a little to the community. I am quite new to bicycle touring/
I love bicycle touring but decided I wanted to have a different type of cycling holiday experience so I decided to find a place to base myself out of and do day rides. Girona seemed to be a cycling hotspot so I made a trip there. I was not disappointed !
    Here are some tips/thoughts/highlights:
    – I spent just over a week in Girona in March and had an amazing time. The weather was amazing. A little brisk in the morning but everyday was sunny and clear.
    – The food was amazing ! So were there drinks.
    – I had lovely Airbnb right in the centre of the old town so it was super easy to ride out of each day and super convenient for groceries and restaurants.
    – I didn’t book a tour since these’s so much good riding around there. I planned all of my own rides by just looking on Strava or Ride with GPS. I mainly did gravel rides that ranged between 30-90km and visited some beautiful old villages.
    – I didn’t want the faff of flying a full sized bike so I rented a bike there. I would highly recommend Campo Bicicletta (they only rent Bianchis and the pricing was very reasonable).
    – The highlight was riding the coastal road between Tossa Del Mar and Sant Feliu de Guixols. The call it the road with a 1000 turns and it’s the best road I have ever ridden on and the scenery was out of this world !
    – The gravel loop to Lake Banyoles was another amazing ride.
    – Girona’s old town is beautiful and has world class restaurants.
If you have any questions, I’ll do my best to answer them.
