A few questions:
- I think its a 2015 model but on the fence about groupsets? Would I be better off purchasing an older bike like this one with 105s or a newer one (2019+) with Soras/Claris at a similar price point?
- At 173cm, would a size 54 be too large? Since the charts online I've found (attached) puts me on the tail end of the sizes.
TIA

No offense, but that bike is pretty old and there’s no way, no way on God‘s Green Earth is it worth $850 I would invest that type of money into a new bike that can be sized to you that can be adjusted to you and then you would have follow up from a local Bike shop Honestly I wouldn’t offer this guy more than 250/300
I prefer this generation 105 to newer Sora, it is first generation they have all the cables routed neatly under the bar tape and it is 10speed which is good for replacement parts and upgrades.
You are in the ballpark of following sizing guides, we can’t tell you exactly, that will come down to more than just your height such as limb ratios, flexibility, and preference.
The price does seem quite steep to me but I have heard that the Canadian used market can be pricier. In my market my absolute max price for this if it was in perfect condition fully serviced would be $500usd which is only 680cad.
