đź”— SRAM AXS version (with Zipp wheels)
đź”— Shimano Ultegra Di2 version
On paper, the AXS version comes with Zipp 404 Firecrests, which is a nice upgrade. But it’s also about a pound heavier than the Di2 build. From what I can tell, most of that weight difference seems to be coming from the SRAM components—but correct me if I’m wrong.
I’ve never ridden SRAM before, and seeing some of the comments (like in the screenshot I saw earlier) makes me a bit hesitant. Curious to hear what others think who have experience with both groupsets.
Also, if anyone has sizing advice, I’d appreciate it. I’m 5’10” with a 31” inseam. I’ve always ridden a medium frame, but Canyon’s fit tool is recommending a small, which has me second-guessing things.
Thanks in advance!

Canyon’s aero bike is called the **Aeroad**.

I have two bikes, a 2023 Canyon Grizl CF SL 7 AXS etap, and a 2025 Aeroad SLX 7 AXS. I’ve never used Shimano so hard for me to compare (take it how you want).
I have over 3k miles combined on these new bikes and have never had an issue. Both bikes have Rival components. I like that thought of having removable batteries which also store well in a saddle bag given small size. The true Bluetooth and wireless seemed like a plus for my personally preference. If I want to upgrade components I don’t have to worry about routing cables etc.
I have also gotten into triathlons, using my Aeroad as my race bike which I have mounted wireless SRAM Blips to my tri bars, something that was very effective and I think unique to SRAM.
For me, I have no reason to switch going forward, nothing but good things to say from my SRAM experiences.
Top end shimano and sram relatively the same. Mid range (ultegra/105 di2) is better than SRAM in my opinion. Only tested a couple without much extended use but I’ve got di2 on my current steed and it’s fantastic.
Di2 because I enjoy the ergonomics of the levers more. I also like the battery solution of di2 more because I only have to charge the bike like every 1000 km.
