Is the clamp (1st picture) okay for the saddle carbon rails? On my other bike the clamps have much more surface area to clamp the rails.

Check the manual of the saddle/seat post.
For example SQlab recommends a wide clamping area with at least 32mm like on the second picture.
i wouldnt use the first one even with braided rails
