Hi all, bought a shadow treymone stem and it's almost like the base is bowed slightly and doesn't sit flush. I sent the company an image and they said that they will send a new one out and it's exactly the same. The front of stem and back touches the headset spacer but the middle doesnt

Truthfully, it’s probably fine. As long as it’s clamping good on the fork tube, it shouldn’t go anywhere.
Looks fine.. looks like it is cast with a slight curvature. I would just cut a shim out of 2 layers of a plastic soda bottle cut out a U shape re attach the load with the plastic in line tighten everything down to spec then pull out the shim with some pliers. it should allow for even spacing so no rub.
That’s poor quality if you’ve had 2 stems with the same defect. Have you tried different spacers to make sure it’s not those? I’d return the stem and get one from another brand. Alternatively if you have access to a lathe or know someone who does, get the base turned flat – use a dummy steerer to clamp the stem to so your machining as it would be when fitted.
Yeah I think they fucked it when they modelled it.
