stage two of the uh Lloyd’s tour of Britain Women takes us from Hartley to Saltburn by the sea over 114.3 km we make our way around Middlesbrough around T-side on our way to the first intermediate sprint in Gizbborough that is at 40.5 km and then we have two categorized claim climbs on mask lane the first category and the finish at Saltburn by the sea a finish that we know from the British National Championships quite early on in the race we uh we saw a crash by our race leader Kim Laour who um fell on her behind hurt her lower back she did manage to get back on the bike we see her yeah at the front here with her EG Insurance Sudal teammates in the green jersey but she um yeah she hurt her back pretty badly a breakaway with Tiffany Ke attacking for the intermediate sprint here in Gizbbor followed in the uh red jersey of the Smurfett Westrock team Lucy Gat and the third rider in our breakaway of the day was Maddie Leech of the Hansling Albertine talking about handslings this one went wrong as the Pelaton increased the pace the maximum lead for our three riders was 3 minutes and then the Pelaton truly sprang into action lucy Gat has to let Tiffany get keep go on that climb of mask lane the South African 24 years old of the Des Hutchinet team just holds on to take the 10 points towards the Queen of the Mountains competition but behind her there’s a fierce fight going on for the remaining points and it’s Anuska Costa who beats Lucette on the line for those points then at 30 km from the line it’s over for Tiffany Keep who does get awarded the prize for most combative rider and of course rightly so after being one of the three animating the race from the start in Harley we saw many attacks on the local circuit this is Loretta Hansen of the lead track team who tried with several riders to um make the race harder group still relatively big at this point lorena Bibas involved in a crash she overcooked this turn apparently we didn’t see any images of that but she uh yeah she wouldn’t return to that first group she would finish the race then more attacks happening as we make our way to the finish line in Saltburn by the Sea and the group is getting smaller and smaller and smaller and at this point we have lost our race leader Kim Lor in the green jersey in a second group there yeah suffered from the crash that she had quite early on in the race attacked by Lizzy Dyman she knows this road pretty well she knows the circuit pretty well wasn’t the podium in the past at the British Nationals but with one lap to go this is all about making the racing hard for her teammates Anna Henderson and Rihanna Marcus who are also still in this uh group intermediate sprint won by the American champion Kristen Forner beating Cat Ferguson for the three points and three seconds most importantly and that means that Forner is now also virtual leader in this race with Lour in a group being distance and then Picnic Fostel quite impressively with um Megan Jastra Shalot Josie Nelson Esme paper comp and Mara Ralden the um Canadian rider 21 years young this is her first season in world two level she already made heads turn with a 10th place in the Amst gold race and this is a pretty powerful attack she takes 10 points the queen of the mountains on mask lane but then we’re 13 km to the line she continues this effort fighting for every second on the chasing pelaton where Rihanna Marcus has attacked flora Makai leading the bunch there for her young teammate Cat Ferguson and it looked like Ariana Marquez the time trial as the national champion of the Netherlands would bridge across but there was a point that she was um yeah not getting any closer especially on the hills where with a really laborous style mara Raldon fought for every meter and every second eddie Suez head Maril and Ali Wallist still in that first group but Mara Raldon she is inside the final kilometer up Saltburn Bank these really steep gradients on her way to something rather wonderful her first women’s world tour team 21 years young from Canada representing Picnic Postel remember her name Mara Raldon yesterday she lost time she was in the first group lost time due to mechanical but today the revenge is sweet rihanna Marquez comes across the line in second place and Alli Wston in third with Kristen Forner also in this group and she is our new race leader in sunny Saltburn by the sea mara Ralden Rihanna Marcus Ali Wiston Magastra Ferguson Swinkles Luigi Vandam Forner and Quincy Tom but what a day for this young Canadian rider so much grit and so much panache kristen Forner is our new race leader just 4 seconds on the Rian Marcus who took time and bonus and uh the rest of the top 10 we’ll see them back in action tomorrow in the Queen stage of the Lloyd’s Tour of Britain kristen Forner is our new race leader as we go to Kelso in the Scottish border region for the longest and most difficult stage of this year’s tour of Britain for women 143.8 8 km five categorized climbs and many meters of elevation and rain on the radar it will be the decisive stage in this year’s tour of Britain will Kristen Forner hold on to the green jersey we’ll see it tomorrow in Kelso
