I’ve biked all my life but have never owned an actual road bike and wanted to see if I could get into actual road biking. I don’t have a ton of cash on hand or would want to drop a lot, but this seemed like a decent deal. Would this be a good starter bike to ride for a few years until I can afford something more serious?
The shoes are also my exact size which slightly entices me. I’m 6-foot with a 34” inseam so this bike should be a decent fit as well.

It was my first, still holds some of my best KOM times on Strava. Go for it.
Not too bad, but bear in mind that given the rim brakes and associated lack of tire clearance there is very little options to upgrade the bike in the future with once you get the cycling bug.
Also, I would pass on the offer of the helmet. You don’t want to wear someone else’s sweaty helmet and you don’t know how well this helmet has been kept and if it’s been in a crash. You can get brand new safe helmets for pretty cheap these days.
That is a good deal for 200 if the shoes work for you great. I’m a bit skeptical of used helmets, a new one would be $40-60 and well worth it.
