I've got this Btwin R500E longtail that has issues with the battery, it's really hard to remove. I've tried greasing friction spots but it doesn't work long time.

It's supposed to slot in the top and swing down, but the last bit – 2cm – it really needs a big push to lock in.

Anyone had a similar battery with issues? Some solutions for this problem?

  1. Not going to guarantee this is the case for that bike but many ebike batteries from reputable manufacturers are not intended to be removed by owners only at workshop level if any repairs or maintenance is required

Can you loosen the bolts and nudge the plastic hook or the contact assembly?

My e-bike has a different kind of battery holder, and there are countless other variants in use, but a common trend amongst all I’ve seen is that the plastic interfacing parts are just bolted to the frame with some room for adjustment. Btwin is a budget brand, so if something is adjustable there’s a decent chance it came adjusted wrong.

  3. The holding plate is bent. That plate is thin, alu and quite finnicky, so if its bent, the battery can’t really snap in place, or snap out of it.

Bring it to your Servicepoint, they’ll sort it out. I work at one, and we bought a bosh specific tool to straighten that issue. DONT! bend it yourself, you got warranty on that.
