My trip is fractionned in 4 days.
Ljubljana -> Kranj 46,4km 720m up 660m down
Kranj -> Lake Bled -> Lake pohinj 59,5km 690m up
Lake pohinj -> Mojstrana 42,5km 620m up 540m down
Mojstrana -> Ljubljana 74,3km 410 up 750m down
I did the first day yesterday and now I'm almost in Bled. Stopped at a café waiting the rain to settle down a little.
I stay in Hostels so I brought the bare minimum in clothing and stuff.
Yesterday was ROUGH. Going all the way up 720m in one go, with a heavier bike than I have at home, with my backpack and a sidebag. But I enjoyed it a lot. The weather was nice. The hostel was nice, I socialized with the french girls in my room and a little with a German group. And also with the handler in the morning, he was nice. Coming from a social anxious boy I'm glad it turned out that way.
I changed my course today because I realised it was insane (1300m up).
I don't know how you people that carry heavier stuff do when the climb is that hard tbh.
Also I have some climbing planned tomorrow morning, gonna use my upper body a little. I hope I I'll not be too exhausted lol.
Here are a picture of my bike and my first day (I didn't record the beginning).

Enjoy our country.
Regarding how people manage big climbing days, it’s all about fitness and preparation. When you train and can manage 3000-4000m of altitude on a road bike in a day, then 1500m of altitude fully packed is easy. But it comes with hours and hours in the saddle. If you can only manage up to 800, don’t think that’s a failure, just your current fitness limitations and that’s okay – not everyone wants (or has time to) spend so much time training, and you can still have amazing time bikepacking more flat regions or avoid big hills.
I plan to do Slovenian western loop in July, I saw there is more than 9000m of elevation so I’ll pack super light, hope it will be ok.
