Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Bluesky Threads I was trying to remove the brakes from this old bike to give them a service and the bolt on one side snapped (very easily). Is there any getting it out and replacing it or am I screwed? by MakeRedditShitAgain Bicycling Bike Bike Repair Biking Cycling Repair
punkcucumber on June 8, 2025 4:17 pm you can screw the other part too, look for a detail plan about canti or vbrake sockles
reed12321 on June 8, 2025 4:18 pm Drill a hole through the broken bolt, use and EZ-out bit and you’ll be able to remove it. Hopefully it’s not sized or cross-threaded in there
ohyikesitsmagenta on June 8, 2025 4:33 pm No just remove the front fork, place it against something sturdy and tap the mount for the bolt out.

Cut or file a slot, for a slotted screwdriver and unscrew it
