On this ride I cycled from Exeter to the beautiful south Devon coastline. I visited the beaches at Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth. I travel through many small towns, villages and cycle quiet country lanes and very busy shared cycle paths, full of pedestrians.
My observations are the subject of this ride. So come along and enjoy another great cycling adventure.

heat up [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] here [Music] heat up here [Music] [Applause] [Music] hi guys welcome back and thanks again for joining me in my ride today well it’s such a beautiful day today it’s lovely and warm so I thought I’m going to go to the coast so I’m off to Sidmouth uh Bley Salulton and then Xoff so as usual guys let’s go and see if we see anything interesting on today’s ride what a day yeah it’d be rude not to go to the beach today wow it’s gorgeous isn’t that a lovely cottage can I just say thank you for your company on this ride today guys i really do appreciate it and I always appreciate your company on these rides um as you know I always ride solo well pretty much most of the time so it’s nice to have your company um with me on days like this yeah I think the last time I uh done this route or a similar route it was a nice sunny day to be fair but it was freezing cold if I remember rightly making my way out to a village called Talaton at the moment so uh let’s crack on [Applause] i was just going to say in the colors of those uh that hedro beautiful then I had to slam me brakes on fox up there look guys yeah the birds are chirping really nice this morning nice and loud yeah sadly where I live there’s so much light pollution from the street lamps that the birds sing throughout the night i do wish that they had turned the street lamps down well actually I rather they turned them off yeah when I lived up on Dartmore in a little village um the uh council there needed to uh make some savings so one of the things that the uh committee agreed on and that was to um turn the street lamps off and uh we didn’t know it at the time but turning the street lamps off and plunging us into darkness up on Dartmore it actually cut crime dramatically yeah it turns out uh potential burglars and car thieves didn’t like walking around dark areas because if they needed to look in a car or the layout of someone’s garden they would um have to turn the torch on or a flashlight and then obviously they would stand out like a sore thumb yeah so uh they killed two birds with one stone they saved some money by turning the power off on the street lamps and they cut crime that looked rather inviting then didn’t it yeah i’m coming into St mary now guys oh it’s just absolutely beautiful isn’t it guys i know it’s an old country lane but it just really is beautiful i think the last time I went Sidmouth guys if you can remember I went that way in that really really rocky uh pity lane that I went down that was a nightmare [Applause] oh oh into Sedmouth snow guys [Applause] [Applause] sidmouth two miles yeah it’s a nice descent now all the way down into [Music] [Applause] Sidmouth well that was a nice car wasn’t it come you climbing anywhere out of Sidmouth you’re going up a hill you can still see how steep this hill is that’s peak hill done yeah on my way to Budley Saltton though guys [Applause] [Applause] oh big pot over there guys oh thank you yeah you really got to watch them ples they’re just lurking in the shadows and that’s how It’s done on these uh narrow country lanes that’s for all my American viewers i know I’ve had plenty of comments about how narrow our lanes are i know it probably wouldn’t work in your country [Applause] you got to have a little bit of patience but um living in Devon used to these country lanes i’ve been driving and riding and them all my life so uh yeah I’m well used to it [Applause] everybody’s so polite today and courteous [Music] heat heat [Music] [Applause] [Music] heat [Music] heat [Music] [Music] heat heat [Music] [Music] heat heat [Music] [Applause] [Music] let’s move along they’re lovely here guys there’s me back she’s doing absolutely lovely she is yeah motoring along absolutely gorgeous isn’t it guys right I’m going to hop back on the bike we’ll have a look over there over the other end [Applause] oh I can smell a chip shop guys i had a bag of chips from the chip shop for ages to them pedestrians i’m going to take a um left up through here down uh down there somewhere there is a uh naturous beach down there if you’re into that haven’t been on it myself but may interest some of you guys no I have uh never been on a naturous beach seen a few there’s a few of them run this way i’ve never uh stripped off and had a walk around myself i know my mates do yes so I’m uh leaving Budley Sultan now guys and uh making my way down to Axmouth third and final beach just beautiful here guys it really is love this [Music] trail stick to the uh cycle path today guys [Music] normally go boating down the road but not today [Music] yeah heavy [Music] hello you decided to get [Music] Get [Music] over me as hard as you want [Music] [Music] okay that’s why I’m uh not so keen on going on the uh cycle paths on that [Applause] pavement all right guys cuz I’m uh just leaving XMuff now and um I’ll next see you in um exit guys cuz I’m going to be doing way I’m back in exit now well Topsham if you had watched my POV you would have seen me get here [Music] right guys i’m back in Exaton now i have done 43 miles uh 2,676 ft of climbing and I got 59% of the battery available that’s not bad is it guys a shout out to Ross who I just met he’s a subscriber to the channel lovely to meet you Ross right that’s it from me for today’s ride guys i hope you 1. I absolutely love watching your cycle rides. My parents live in Devon, and I visit a couple of times a year. Budleigh and Sidmouth are their regular places to visit, I love Budleigh. I'm a cyclist too, and always take my bike down when I visit. Some amazing places to ride, and beautiful trails.

They live in a village called Kentisbeare, I would love to see you do a ride through the village. Some pretty big hills too.
    Loving your channel ❤️

  2. Lovely ride with blue skies and green leaves on the trees and hedges. It's such a shame there are so many cars on the quiet lanes. Good job avoiding wayward pedestrians on the cycle way . Cheers
