[Music] buenos das everyone coming to you live from Jirona Spain in today’s video we’re going to be going for a ride i am pretty pumped up because this is going to be one of my longer rides that I’ve done here i’ve been here for the tracka and uh stayed here for a bit worked remotely and now I’m here to get some rides in and really experience more of Cataloonia so um today I’m going to be doing a nice 53 mileer uh right here from Jerona leaving out going toward the coast pretty stoked it’s called the rustic route and I found it um from a cafe actually through a paper which I’ll share with you and um yeah I’m pretty pumped up about it i got my route loaded just about kitted up and uh yeah it’s early it’s about a little after 8:00 and you know the riders here I noticed start much later than they do back home and that’s probably because they stay up really late to eat and that’s just like this the culture here in uh Spain but yeah this is uh the view of the mountains over here just you can kind of get a sense of uh what I’m going to be riding in and yeah really stoked to get out there so let’s go ahead and uh get out there shall we but first thing is first I need to find some air so I’m going to head on over to Eat Sleep Cycle which is right across the river and uh we’re going to get some air let’s do it this is uh one of the more iconic outlook points here in the center of Oldtown and you can see by the old cathedral over there that was built in the 10th century guys that’s like how long ago i mean almost like what t year 10 something oh my gosh unreal very medieval i’ll try to get over there later um cycling over here could be kind of strange you have to just like make sure you’re going the right direction because there lots of signs and you want to just respect the locals and the way of traffic so I just got pumped up over here at East Cycle so just going to load my route and we’ll be on the road let’s do it just leaving town and on the road now it’s going to be a big one for today so really excited about it haven’t gone this big since uh the track I raced so yeah excited to get the miles in all right I’m on the trail this is uh the head the trail head over here i know it said uh attention do not enter danger and all that but you can pass through here it’s all construction workers just the other day when I did a a shorter route of this same entry and uh it was okay to pass just got to stay on the trail there’s some construction here on the left obviously just respecting the locals and the trail rules but yeah really excited to be on this trail oh man I got to say the trails here outside of Jirona are beautiful they’re just like really close proximity to Oldtown and the city so it’s really nice to just have quick access from the road to the trails and I tell you man these trails are awesome you get to see a little bit of it today so and a little bit of unknown as well because this is my first time doing this bigger route uh so yeah let’s do it excited so on a new section of the route and uh yeah so far so good you know one thing I love about adventure cycling or cycling in general is that it’s just a great way to explore and challenge yourself and get out into the unknown and take risk you know you load up a route on your cycling computer and then you follow it you sort of follow it into the unknown you can do all the research that you want but you got to be ready when something goes south in any event as it does i mean like anything in life really but uh that’s one of the the experiences I truly enjoy the most and I feel like that’s uh one of the reasons why I do what I do in terms of cycling and exploration and being a witness out here in this unknown world so yeah I hope you all experience the same during this video uh cuz we’re kind of experiencing it together and you know as much as it is unknown to me it’s unknown to you as well so I hope you can resonate with it so yeah enjoy keep enjoying beautiful views beautiful trail soaking up this prana i can’t I can’t complain and I called it the unknown so the route that I was on uh told me to make a left and the left was just really really rough basically it looked like that with like no signal of a trail so I’m going to stay on the main trail and see if it can take me a little further i have the route also loaded on Gaia GPS which is a a good resource that gives you nice maps that work offline and uh yeah I’m hoping that will connect me to the trail looks like it will so let’s see while my wahoo keeps trying to reroute me all right folks so it looks like I’m on the right trail and as you can see here via my guide GPS the green route on the left is the actual main route and uh I kept going straight it told me to make a left on that green route but I didn’t go i kept going straight and now I’m here and you can see that there’s this trail here that connects me to the main route so onward we go yeah it’s just really good to have Gaia GPS as like a backup um it’s a great app not sponsored by them i’ve been using it for years so highly recommend it if you’re adventure cyclist or someone who likes to do a lot of trekking in the [Music] [Music] outdoors cloud look a little angry over there [Music] all right all right so we’re going to a village called Vergas very old medivo looking village here all stone just like old town [Music] Jirona just rolling to another village here i came out of this really fun trail slight up and downhill really nice yeah I can’t complain a little wet out but such a great time so far so thank you all for the game if you made it this far definitely give me a subscribe and comment if you’ve been over here before and ridden these same trails i know some of you get around so I love to hear woo yes i got to be honest with you all these rides and adventures give me so much energy and thankfulness of the place that I’m riding in and experiencing you have no idea how the positive vibes just flow throughout and I like to boomerang that back into the people who are closest to me who I love people who give back to me as I would get back to them i think reciprocation i think of things like that and uh just being happy and experiencing deeply all of this world man it’s just amazing oh gosh I truly love cycling that’s what it is you’re hearing it from me a cycling adventure cyclist snob here not even a snob man just a lover i love cycling i made it to the rustic cafe here this is like the halfway point pretty cool cafe looks like a cycling inspired lots of cyclists outside inside the flat white all right everyone just left Rustic Cafe just a little bit ago which was the halfway point uh nearby the coast i don’t think I’ll be able to see the ocean but I can feel the breeze big climb up ahead i guess this is where it starts thankfully I have the right gearing for this made it to the summit [Music] all right everyone passing through Leisba small village in route to Jirona very stone and medieval very beautiful very quaint too i imagine it’d be really peaceful to walk through the evenings and early mornings [Music] here all right everybody checking in 40 mile marker sometimes these rides you just don’t want to end you know because it just feels so good and this is one of those moments bike is super dirty i got a lot of cleaning to do later all good times on a big climb here looks like the grade might be going up to about 10% for some not too bad for others ah daunting but I’m happy to do it you know I actually enjoy climbing and I got to say I’m a pretty big guy but I don’t mind it i look at it as a challenge to test myself and to get fit along the way check it out beautiful trail beautiful trail looks like I’m just about at the top of the climb woo in the red zone oh man i got up most of it pedaling but I had to hop off right over here woo man that is a climb that one cracked me open but it feels so good and my water’s going to taste a little bit sweeter once I get to the very top let’s go i just reached the summit so it’s all downhill from here looks like I’m gonna be on the road so should be smooth sailing all the way down into Jerona all right the ride is not over so I was on the road peeled into this gravel trail that rooted me right in here and I’m like in the center between the downhill right now so just wanted to pull over and uh share that with you that uh back on the trail which is kind of cool because I kind of didn’t want to ride road today anyway so excited to be off road let’s do [Music] it looks got a nice climb here uh-oh all right guys for real this time gota in the distance over there you probably can’t see it cuz I’m in like super wide view but uh yeah still on the trail but it looks like it’s downhill so I need my hands for this one and I’ll see you in Jona all right everybody so I hope you all enjoyed the ride i will see you in the next video depending on where I’m going to be you’ll see but if you enjoyed this one go ahead and hit that like button subscribe and I will see you all next time peace out [Music]
