



Decided it was time to get disc brakes on the 22” Stolen Spade! Found a local frame builder to add disc mounts. I am super happy with the turn out!
Gave the frame a quick scuff and hit it with 3 coats of clear. The frame is nearly 8 years old, has a sweet-looking patina finish, and I’m totally OK with it.
Rear wheel and brakes: Fit Revenge ARC laced to an Eclat Exile disc hub with Avid BB7 mechanical brakes.

Im brake less on my BMX but loved my disc brakes on my DJ. Lots of fun to be had. I had hydraulic though.
It’s nice with the breaking power, plus you have the better mounting system. I also have a race bike with the slider bracket and it’s a pain in the butt to take the wheel off (really not that bad but it’s not as easy a U or V brake system).
