that is Grace Listister great ride there by Grace Listister finding herself in elite company in that first chasing group this is the third group on the road this race has been blown to pieces today hasn’t it absolutely blown to pieces kristen Fner though you can see the look on her face she’s still so focused so composed just trying to do everything that she can to claw back the time that she’s lost trying to close that gap but you can see how fast the pace is this run into the finish which is going to make it so so difficult for the chasers behind to find that difference in speed where they can make up ground that’s why we see it on climbs the gaps being able to be closed so much quicker than on this sort of terrain and with a slight tailwind cross tailwind that the riders are going to have from their left hand side good to see Marta Lack here though she was one of the riders that came down yesterday h Anderson and Marcus they have to do the work and on their wheel they find um yeah riders are not going to participate for FDI su and picnic pastel and it means that the gap is going out for our leaders Caroline Swinkle’s leading cat Ferguson Alli Wallist Elenia Gasparini and Josie Nelson who yeah has to beat both Ferguson and Alli Wallist to get that win in Kelso so our virtual classification would be Ali Wallist ahead of Cat Ferguson and Caroline Sprinkles as it stands with the 30 second time gap for the Chasers yeah but the differences between them um Wallist is our virtual leader at the moment uh she’s got 3 seconds on Ferguson and she’s got 5 seconds on Swinkles we’ve got 76 and 4 seconds on the line of course this finish is beneficial to both Ferguson and Wallist who were already shown on the line that they took the bonus seconds that they know and they are the fastest two sprinters in this group but yeah it’s only 5 seconds between our virtual leader at the moment Wallist and Swinkles and and even if Ferguson beats Wallist she’s going to take over the lead it is going to be so close nailbiting stuff if Wallist wins the race she’s the leader if Ferguson wins the race she’s the leader so much it depends on what Ferguson and Wallist will do but please don’t start raining again because that sky looks very very dark indeed millie Cousins here just uh next to Image and Wolf just probably checking that she’s okay yeah luckily we have the camera from this side because the left leg of Everin Wolf looks um looks rather terrible yeah we’re making our way to uh to Kelso which is a town of about 7,000 inhabitants a market town as I explained before market charter was granted many many many years ago and the rain is coming down yet again on our Pelaton it’s the story of the day there might be um sun on the horizon but uh when you’re not yet on the horizon the rain is still coming down on your head this group is losing track uh losing terrain with Linda Hitman doing uh some work at the front our winner will come from the first group of five big props here to uh not only Lauren Dixon the Scottish rider of the Hansling Alba development team but also Grace Listister for the H cycling team finding herself in that first group josie Nelson Ali Wston Cat Ferguson Hain Swingles and a Leonora and Gasparini take your bets Danny who’s going to be It’s a lot at stake surely I’ve got to back the Brit in cat Ferguson i’m going to back the I will go down under then i will go for Alli i remember Alli sending her her email to to Natasha Kava of the of the later agent insurance sadal team she was left out of the team pursuit squad after Tokyo and yeah needed new things to focus on and her letter her email was so good um that she came over to Europe and it was uh well next to Kim Laor one of the best best signings that Natasha did for her team and she has grown uh leaps and bounds ever since Ali Wallist on the track of course Olympic medalist is back in the uh New Zealand team pursuit after all winning a medal this year and um yeah fantastic in the Omnium won world cups there Madison racing she does as well but she is um yeah she’s becoming one of the most allround classics sprinter type riders out there and I think she’s only just 22 24 she’s a little bit older 24 5 km a big fan of Ali Wis just had a little nice stat come up the youngest stage winners in the history of this race back in 2014 she was pouring rain as well yes I remember as well I was in that race I was standing on the side of the road which was less which was not as bad as as you would have probably felt but I was there and I remember it indeed uh but yeah Cat Ferguson 19 years age could be the youngest stage winner ever and do you know who the last British stage winner was here in Tour of Britain good question i don’t know either i’m just putting you on the spot here it wasn’t last year i would I would take a guess at Lizzie Dagnan but uh I’m not sure i remember Hannah Barnes winning one of the early editions um one of the stages lizzy Dyman yeah I’ll go Lizzy Dagnon yeah okay i’m already in 2019 as we speak uh yeah Lizzy Dyken stage five in 2019 from oh oh lord it’s a Welsh named Wells to Wilt Welsh something like no Wales to uh build Wales well done you did a great job there 14th of June 2019 uh and of course she also won the overall in 2019 so uh Cat Ferguson could possibly be the first British stage winner in six years and she is of course the face alongside Imagin Wolf um and I would also like to add April Tacy Flora Perkins Millie Cousins there’s a whole new generation of young British riders standing in the footsteps of the likes of Lizzy Dyen and who are the future of British cycling we’re at the We are almost in Kel so it doesn’t really look like that we’re still on the outskirts uh but we still only have three kilometers left to go um they have to keep on riding the gap is only 30 seconds yet again Wallist is our virtual leader at the moment 3 seconds behind her is Cat Ferguson 5 seconds behind her is Swingles there’s 10 six and four bonus seconds on the line so if Ferguson wins and Won comes in second she’s a new leader if Wallston wins and Ferguson comes in second she’s a new lead race leader for Swinkles it means she has to win it and Ferguson or uh Wallist have to at least be third which honestly I do not expect to happen with fast riders like Wallace Ferguson and also Josie Nelson up there yeah let’s not forget Josie Nelson as well for the stage because she has been sat on quite a lot skipping a few turns classification and she has a very fast sprint on her gaspirini is also fast but has been doing all of the work for Caroline Swinkles here who is in fourth position caroline Sprinkles though going on the attack she does not want to wait until that finish she shouldn’t and she can’t because she is not the sprinter look how easily Josie Nelson followed that move she’s still got the legs two kilometers wallist is also part Ferguson is also part of this group so far having to close a gap though so Cat Ferguson was straight on the wheel alli Wis having to use a little bit more of her energy having to close that gap she’s now in the slipstream so she’s able to just run at these three riders we’re alongside the River Tweed at the moment making our way to the center over Kelso Bridge a bridge designed by Renie the man who also did the Waterloo Bridge in London there it is over the River Tweed oh it’s so wet and so treacherous we can’t even see through the helicopter camera anymore oh I’m just I’m just nervous looking at this as we approach the Flam Rouge and we got those pesky stones in the center of Kelso we have to be so careful Danny with our sprint we do indeed and we saw in the Vela where Cat Ferguson went down in stage two she was so angry with herself but she was going to try and make amends here in Kelso as we come up to 1 km to go for it we’ve got the 90° left at 500 to go they’ll then go over the bridge the sweeping left with 300 to go onto the Clinkers where stage three winner will be crowned i am very nervous about this final kilometer it’s been a stage with crashes with Kim Laour with Mara Ralden our previous two stage winners abandoning and now we got five leaders Caroline Swinkles Alli Wston Gasparini and the two British riders Josie Nelson and what is Gasparini going to do there and of course Cat Ferguson ferguson is going to catch Gasparini this has been a a stage with many many emotions over the bridge here in Kelso you can see that Sinkles is taking it very carefully that sprint is going to be decisive we have Gusparini at the front ferguson on her wheel wallist moving up josie Nelson moving up off the bridge and onto the clinkers onto the stones and they’re going to be so slippery this corner we have Wston taking the shortcut here for now gasparini is in front position there is Cat Ferguson starting the sprint out of the settle even on these stones k Ferguson kat Ferguson is going to be the first British winner since 2019 since Lizzy Dyland in Wales and she’s also the new race leader in the Lloyd’s Tour of Britain cat
