So, I’m not sure how to go about getting the spoke length required for a wheel setup I wanna build. I have a newer production Odyssey Hazard Lite rim, which I don’t believe has changed geometry since their debut. I want to lace it to a Specialized Wideload front hub, with a 14mm male axle and sealed bearings. It’s been long discontinued since the mid 2000’s, and it wasn’t a super popular front hub, so I don’t see spoke calculator databases online containing the measurements I’d need.
My alternative choice, I found, is to get a Primo N4FL V2 hub, with 14mm female axle bolts. Spoke calculators online have the geometry measurements ready, and I don’t think the V1 and V2 have changed? I guess one upside to the Primo N4FL front hub, is that the 14mm female axle bolts will be even stronger than the 14mm male axle on the Specialized Wideload front hub; not that I’d need to be worrying… lol
I’ve forgotten how to lace a flangeless front hub, but it shouldn’t be too hard after looking at some tutorials. It’s been quite an awful long time since I’ve ran one of these hubs either, but I figured my options would be fairly limited, even as far as getting 14mm dropout front forks. I bought some used Sunday Night V1 forks and am planning to re-paint them. The compression bolt/top stem cap is stripping on the top, so I might need to figure out the threads for that, in order to purchase a new one (most likely will be a generic one).

So generally when it’s a hub not listed on drop down menu spoke calculators, use a hub that is close to and visually similar, it’ll work out fine on spoke selection. Front hubs aren’t dealing with offset sizing etc so it’s not tricky on spoke selection. Primo 14mm n4 and the regular and original n4’s are all the same hub shell anyway regardless of axle type.
