Hi everyone,
I'm looking for bib shorts with a very thin chamois. Most chamois pads these days are made from foam covered in a "skin-friendly fleece" layer. What I'm actually after are bibs that basically only have the fleece layer, without the thick foam underneath.
My last purchase was the Assos GT Mille, but the padding was insanely thick – and to make things worse, it kept sliding up into my butt crack, which was super annoying.
I ended up cutting out the foam part of the chamois and just keeping the fleece. That felt way better, but the fleece isn’t fully stitched down and tends to move around a lot.
So far, the only bibs I’ve found that come close are the The Black Bibs Triathlon Bibs (The Triathlon Bibs – The Black Bibs) – but with shipping and taxes to my country, they end up costing twice the listed price.
I'd really appreciate any recommendations or suggestions!
Thanks a lot!

May I ask in which country you are located?
If there’s that much movement in the pad then you are buying bibs that are at least one, if not two, sizes too large.
The whole point of the short is to keep the pad firmly in place on your ass. If it’s “sliding into your butt crack” or “moving around a lot” then the bibs are too large and you will end up with some serious chafing problems.
Don’t waste time trying to find thinner pads (although I’ll agree that the Assos pads can get a bit ridiculous), just buy a smaller size.
You are looking for a triathlon short or a mtn bike short liner, but like another poster said, they need to be tight.
Consider bibs with sqlab chamois.
I currently know the Brands that feature them: sqlab, gonso and triple2.cc
