1954 German Diamant – My first build!

I bought a random old bike off eBay because I liked the paint job, little did I know how old it was. The serial number confirms it to be from 1954.

The frame, crankset and brakes are original parts. This bike was a special “sports model” next to the standard bike Diamant made in 1954, that’s why it has rim brakes when other bikes at the time still had spoon brakes! They also only made one size, a one-size-fits-all 56cm (22”).

It’s perfectly silent and rides smooth as butter, even though this was my first time building a up a bike. Just rode it 10 miles to this poppy field. My pride and joy. Let’s see if it makes it another 71 years!
