I’m a pretty experienced cyclist and have had all sorts of bikes including full suspension etc. I’ve gone back to fully rigid and am going to Bentonville in a few weeks. Which bike would you recommend? And please don’t just say full suspension or a hardtail mountain bike because I know that’s what’s normal. Both are so fun on single track

Gravel and maybe rent a mtb

Fatbike. Nothing you can’t ride with that 🤘
That surly would be fun as hell down there. I’d take that for sure. Some of the most fun I’ve ever had on singletrack has been on a Cutthroat down there. You can connect some pretty epic stuff down there and their gravel is really good too. If you’re looking for a big ride look up the 2025 Rule of 3 50 mile route. About the most fun I’ve ever had on a bike. Just an awesome route.
Hmmm Bville is kinda on the chunky side so I could see the fat being more fun but the extra rolling resistance might be a little much for the punchy climbs.
You did say you’re a capable rider so fat bike???
Also. If you’ve never tried an Emtb do a 4 hour rental. They are way too much fun there.
You can ride a lot of Bentonville with either bike, but if it was me, I’d go with the drop bar. The dropper post will be a big help out there. Bentonville does have some chunk/tech, but it is far from the rockiest place to ride. There is a lot of trail variety.
Also, it’ll be an easier ride going between trails or into town for food and beverages.
If you do want to hit any of the jumps or drops though, the flat bar setup will make that easier.
