Dumb rookie question. My wife has an Electra Townie (couple of years old) and wants me to put on a handlebar screw in type mirror she bought today. All the bikes I’ve owned have plus you can remove at the ends of the handlebar. These won’t budge and seem to be one piece (rubber going under the leather part).

1.) Am I right, or do I just need to tug harder?

2.) If they aren’t removable, how do you install a mirror on an Electra? It’s an Electra branded mirror, comparability shouldn’t be an issue?

Thanks!

Depends on the grips. Some grips have rubber covering the end. Others don’t, and use independent plugs to cover the hole.

Use some scissors or a knife or a drill or something to cut the end of the grip off so you can install your mirror.
