Hello. I’m VERY new to bikepacking or just bikes in general, I have never been bikepacking but have always wanted to!! I was wondering if any of these bikes were worth using or all scrap. I’m aiming for a bike that can hold up with rough and smoother type terrains.

How about fix up and sell
I’ll give the expert’s opinion how beginners should evaluate bikes.
Bikes are complex machines with the critical parts made of steel. So if you come across a bike with a lot of rust, that’s a very bad sign. Now you might think, “Oh I can fix it.” While that may or may not be true, the flipside is time and cost. For example that front brake I would replace outright, cost with labor, $50. Keep in mind that’s one problem of several I noticed from just looking at this picture.
On the other hand, even easier to evaluate if a bike is worthy or not is that looked like it was stored outside. That’s also a very bad sign.
I would make friends with some bikers and see how their bikes look, how they store them, and then you get a better idea about how to evaluate bicycles.
EDIT: Next bikes are very low quality, barely worthy of riding to store and back.
Not really related to bikepacking. You’ll probably have better luck with this topic at r/whichbike
