After removing the chain to clean it I noticed this play in the casette, it seem way to much for me but I’m no expert.
Should I maybe tighten something?
Model: SRAM GX EAGLE XG-1275 12V
PS: This is a Moterra Neo Carbon 2 used with around 7k kilometers, see my previous posts for more info.
Is this casette play too much?

Yea
I’m far from being an expert but I think that a cassette should have very little or no play at all.
Yes, its not supposed to have this amount of play.
Zero play on cassette
Yes. My XG-1275 doesn’t move at all.
You could see if your cassette isn’t on there properly, whether there’s a spacer missing, or whether your free hub needs to be tightened.
I also had this problem, though on my roadbike with 105.
Cassette definitely couldn’t be on any tighter, and then I saw the play was on the freehub. Brought the wheel to the mechanic, he looked at it, thought it was a goner at first, but then he just tightened it, and it’s all good now.
This much play will almost certainly cause issues when shifting, though, or noise when riding in general.
Zero play on a cassette, either your freehub body is somehow cooked, bearings have collapsed, or its not threaded onto the freehub correctly.
No lock ring or it’s loose and needs to be torqued
Had the same issue and similar amount of play when I forgot a 1.85 mm spacer on a Shimano HG-EV hub, but already noticed the play when assembling. So wouldn’t be surprised if someone changed the cassette here and forgot a spacer, though I don’t know SRAM.
I had the same on a shimano 105 11-34 cassette, I discovered I needed a spacer for this, unlike my old 11-32. Was perfect after.
Your freehub-bearings are 100% done. You need a new one sth like this
https://bikable.com/parts/freehubs/sram-mth-746-xd-freehub-body
This is the one that will fit your hub and casette. Couldnt find it on sram official site
If the model number ei scprrwct that’s an xd driver cassette, try removing it check for play in the freehub, if none put it back on and tighten to spec.
Too much play? Naaa…
Your freehub is fucked
HTH
Yes, it will break at some point whilst riding, please fix 🙏
Yikes 😬
